Food Glorious Food

When we first moved to Abruzzo I wasted so much food. I’d shop as I used to in the US…carefully converting pounds and ounces to kilos and grams, but I still ended up with way too much food. Yes, I made mistakes with the conversion sometimes, but we also received so many impromptu lunch and dinner invitations. As well as home cooked meals, we’d be taken to favorite local restaurants. The food I bought would sit in the fridge unused. I’ve learned my lesson now. I no longer shop for the week, but buy fresh every two or three days.

Food is a way of life here and conversation revolves around family, food and football.

Hope you enjoy my little insights into “retirement in Abruzzo”

Thanks for stopping by, and say safe.
