Reservation made!
Trabocco Punta Cavalluccio

I’ve enjoyed two delicious lunches at Trabocco Pesce Palombo in Fossacesia. One recently in April, and one a couple of years ago, in late August, when we found our little piece of heaven in Abruzzo.

We return to our lovely home in Colledimezzo in July so I decided to try a different trabocco this time, and I’m very excited. These wonderful seafood restaurants are so busy that even now, I couldn’t make a weekend reservation. Full until August. We’re on vacation, a weekday is just fine.
I’ll send photos of the food!

Oh those Sunsets

Tidying up my photo collection today, and found some pretty spectacular Colorado sunsets.

Lazy Sunny Afternoon – The Tax Man

Staying with the old tunes. Starting my Sunday with so many chores to do, made me think of this song. Always thought it was Lazy Sunday Afternoon. It is actually Lazy Sunny Afternoon…oh well, it won’t be lazy.

I’d breeze through my chores when I was twenty, or even ten years younger…or five for that matter, but now, they don’t seem so important anymore. I get distracted with things I really want to do.

Yes, I was young when the Kinks recorded this song. Now, not so much. Still enjoy it though. It’ll be in my head all day today.

Drive in Saturday

I never wake up on a Saturday morning without this song in my head. Now you have it in your head too! Enjoy your Saturday!

Marina Piccola – Capri

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_37f4

2017 took me to Capri for the first time. We stayed at a fabulous B&B Bettola del Re in the lovely little town of Ana Capri. I much prefer Ana Capri to the busy hustle bustle of its big sister.

After Capri we visited the Amalfi coast. It sealed the deal for us regarding retiring to Italy. No we couldn’t afford to buy a home on Capri, or the Amalfi coast, but it pushed me to explore other places, and that’s when we found Abruzzo.

I’m thinking of Capri today because this morning I made a sponge cake, and filled it with cream and jam. Why did this make me think of Capri? During our visit we ate at at a lovely restaurant Le Sirene overlooking the Marina Piccola, which in my opinion, is much more picturesque than Marina Grande. After stuffing ourselves with fish and pasta we thought we could eat no more, but we were wrong. Our waiter twisted our arm and we shared a piece of sponge cake (pronounced spongie cake).
My mamma, she a make it this morning
Maybe she did, it was the best spongie cake I’d ever tasted. I hope to eat there again sometime.

Texting and Driving!

STOP NOW!
I was rear-ended on my way home from work a couple of weeks ago. Was the driver texting? Maybe, maybe not, but it has made me more aware of folks driving around me. Last night I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a huge SUV. It was packed full of kids, probably a school run, and the responsible adult behind the wheel wasn’t even looking at at the road. He was texting. Almost ran into the back of me at the stop lights. Pulled along side me and continued to text. He had a precious cargo of young children. Why put them at risk? How can we teach kids not to text when they see their parents do it all of the time? The lights changed to green and he didn’t even notice. His phone was much more important.

PLEASE STOP TEXTING AND DRIVING. ITS DANGEROUS!

Avengers – Endgame

intro-1544204443

I don’t normally post about movies, but I’m making an exception. My daughter and her husband asked us to go and see Avengers – Endgame with them. I knew my husband desperately wanted to see it so what the heck, I went!
I have to tell you…I LOVED IT!
From the banter exchanged between the characters, to the special effects and battle scenes. It was a great movie. Even if you aren’t an Avengers fan, go see it.
Yes…I adore chubby Thor!

Just Chill!

Do you find it hard to relax? I do! We go on vacation and unwind, but why can’t we do that at home? Life is way too short to keep up the crazy pace we set for ourselves.

Its the weekend, kick back and chill.

Roccoscalegna – Men in Tights

Easter in Abruzzo was colorful. After the solemn procession on Good Friday, we enjoyed this amazing display in Roccoscalegna on Easter Monday. This wonderful village is 20 minutes from my new home. Can’t wait to live there full time.

Good Friday in Abruzzo

Each Village has its own emotional procession. I was honored to be a part of this.
