Excellent Villa Eustachio

View from Villa Eustachio

Italy is my passion and nothing gives me greater pleasure than planning summer vacations in the country I love. Lake Garda, Venice, Milan, Sienna, Lido de Jesolo, Capri, Amalfi, Positano, Rome, Ravello…the list goes on, but I know where it ends.

The little town of Scala, perched on the beautiful green hills that tumble into the Mediterranean, has captured my heart. The little bars and restaurants were fantastic, great food and great company. The locals are friendly and made me feel at home.

Planning the perfect vacation is my hobby and I always do lots of research before finally finding somewhere. When I first saw the Villa Eustachio I was blown away and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It was beautiful. We were a party of 11 adults and the villa accommodated us with room to spare.

Pasquale and Marco were the best hosts anyone could wish for. Charming, attentive and helpful. They obviously love their properties and want to make sure their guest love them too. They also arranged our transfers to and from Naples, met us when we arrived and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Villa Eustachio is a beautiful villa, in a beautiful setting, and I highly recommend it. Check out the link below.

Italy – Where my Heart is!

As I count down the days until I fly to Naples (9) I anticipate my first meal. Will it be the famous pizza or will it be seafood? One thing is certain, it will be SPECTACULAR!

Italy stole my heart over thirty years ago! Maybe this trip will show me that little retirement place I’ve been searching for! I know I’ll find it soon, its meant to be!

55 Days to go!

If I could start my career over again, I’d be a travel counsellor. Nothing gives me more pleasure than traveling to new places and visiting place I’ve been before and loved.

Since my last trip to Italy (two years ago), I’ve had health concerns, a visit to the emergency room and more stress than I care to talk about, but I’m hoping to exercise the daemons and get all of these issues blown away in the place that soothes my heart and soul, Italy! I can’t wait to sit in the pool of the beautiful villa we’re renting, and look out at the perfect blue waters of the Mediterranean. 55 Days to go!

Ravello – not long now!

75 Days to go before I board the Lufthansa flight to Naples. Counting the days, hours and minutes. Can’t wait to return to Ravello and the Amalfi Coast and excited to see Naples and Capri for the first time. Wish I could stay there forever.

Lake Garda – Wish I were there!

I still dream of retiring to Italy, but would one home be enough. Ravello and the Amalfi Coast is the place I think of most, but Lake Garda and its beautiful scattering of towns, is always in my heart!

Memories of Campania

I could wander those beautiful streets forever.

Anacapri – Italy

capbay-IMG_8543a

Dreaming of Italy again! It’s almost a year until my next visit, but its planned. Naples for a couple of days before taking the ferry to Capri and staying in a beautiful B&B in Anacapri. I’m very excited! After Capri we’re staying in a villa in Scala on the Amalfi Coast. Could life get much better?

Maybe! There’s a small chance I may be spending a week in Verona in November. If I still lived in England, I’d spend every weekend in italy, but alas its a long flight from Denver.

Cappuccino and the Rooftops of Rome!

DSC02995Thou shalt only drink cappuccino or any milky form of coffee in the morning, and never after a meal.

The first time I tasted Cappuccino was in the early seventies. My mum and crazy aunt took me to Italy, Rimini to be precise. It was one of those package tours that were so popular in England back then. We stayed in the Hotel President, by Piazza Tripoli and just a couple of blocks from the beach. I’d dreamed of visiting Italy for as long as I can remember. Not sure why, but it was (and still is an obsession) of mine.

I’m at home in italy, it soothes my soul.

Now, even though I live in the US, I return as often as possible and have travelled from north to south. I have favorite cities and towns of course. Breakfast at Hotel Vittorio on the banks of Lake Garda is wonderful. An ice-cold glass of champagne overlooking the Amalfi Coast in the Beautiful Hotel Villa Maria is heavenly. Tasting wine at one of the many Tuscan Vineyards with good friends is amazing.

However, one of the most exciting, exhilarating places to drink Cappuccino, is on the rooftop of the beautiful Marriott Hotel ‘Grand Flora’ at the top of Via Veneto in Rome! One cup is not enough as you sit and anticipate the day ahead. I never tire of it and I never will.

Hooked on Sunsets – Hotel Villa Maria – Ravello

The Elegant dining room at the beautiful Hotel Villa Maria. Gorgeous for breakfast, but breathtaking at sunset. Can’t get over Ravello! Didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return.

This is the beautiful view from our hotel in Ravello. The Hotel Villa Maria was the most beautiful, perfect place I’ve ever stayed and you will see more of it in later posts. It may have been the deciding factor on my house purchase in italy.
