Maple Syrup does NOT clean pans!

Yesterday my second book went live on Amazon. Exciting, never thought I’d finish it. I’ve been so busy with work, moving, downsizing, planning etc., etc.
This morning I got up bright and early, made oatmeal, checked emails, and as usual had a million things on my mind. That is when I found myself tipping Maple Syrup in the dirty oatmeal pan that was soaking in the sink.

My new book of short stories is available on Amazon now, please feel free to enjoy this crazy British lady’s ghost stories. Yes I see dead people, not very often, but they do turn up. I think they like me! I hope you enjoy reading about them.

Traveling Along the Write Path!

Saturday morning means two cups of coffee, a smoothie and a bottle of San Pellegrino before I even think of taking a shower. Saturday means feeding the washing machine and tumble drier constantly, but Saturday also means writing. Its hard write while working full-time, but I’m on the right, or should I say the write path!

I’ve only managed to publish one novel, Dead of July , of which I’m very proud. It’s available on Amazon for $0.99. I’m also re-editing my first two short stories, which will be published towards the end of the year. They’re all fun reads, and great practice for when I retire and write full-time. Add a little crazy to your life and read “Dead of July”. I think you’ll enjoy it. Keep track of this crazy writer, she’ll be famous one day!

The Occasional Writer!

A retirement to look forward to.

A retirement to look forward to.

I’ve been back at work for two weeks now. At last things are falling into place. I can actually stay awake long enough to be productive in the evening! Finally my occasional writing is happening more often. When I retire (and that’s a long way off) I’ll turn my hobby into a retirement career. My days will be filled with writing and travel….and of course a glass of wine in the late afternoon. My first novel “Dead of July” is currently sitting on Amazon. When it was first published I sold a lot of copies, not enough to make a profit, but enough to encourage me to keep writing. I got some great reviews too. Go check it out, maybe it’s a book you’ll enjoy. It’s never going to be on the best seller list, but I enjoyed writing it and everyone I talked to enjoyed reading it.

Because I don’t have time for marketing, I’m going to reduce the price to $0.99 for the foreseeable future. Let me entertain you for less than a dollar. If you take the plunge, please write a review on Amazon for me.

My journey through life has taken me to many countries. I have crossed paths with interesting and exciting people. I have laughed, cried, loved, and been hurt. All of this makes us who we are.

Because I can’t paint that picture that says a thousand words, I write. I am thrilled and excited to announce that my first full length novel is now in print and can be bought on Amazon. The eBook won’t be available until next week, but for those of you who still like to turn pages, go to the links below.  Amazon UK   Amazon US

Crazy British Writer – a journey

I was a troubled teen. Life wasn’t the way I expected it to be. I quiet often felt lonely, different. My life was boring. How did I fix this? Like all teens, I experimented with things that weren’t good for me, but I don’t need to go into that. Eventually I found something that made me feel good, I started to write. Words flowed from my brain, filling hundreds of pages, maybe thousands eventually. I wrote stories and poems, some of which I shared with friends. A couple were published in teenage magazines. This was quite an accomplishment because there were no personal computers back then.

That was forty years ago. Now I am in my fifties and writing again. I started with a couple of short stories, which I published on Amazon. Good stories, but my inexperience showed and I have taken them down to re-edit.

I have finished my first novel, a paranormal thriller called ‘Dead of July’ and am very excited with the way it turned out. My editor, a lovely lady called Leslie Miller, has just given it back to me, and yes, I need to make a lot of changes, but they are good changes. They are changes that will make a good story into a ‘great story’. I am very excited.

In my mid-fifties, I have discovered my passion, writing. Watch out for my novel ‘Dead of July’, and remember, it’s never to late to start a new journey.

I love to travel, take photographs and write. These are all hobbies, but writing is the hobby I am trying to turn into a career. I want my stories to both thrill and amuse. I love to write.

Today I took a day off work to attend a meeting of writers and listen to great writers talk about their journey. The day started with Guy Kawasaki. Wow, what an inspiration.

I could have listened to him talk all day, he energized me. I was on a high for quite some time after hearing him speak. I realized that my passion for writing isn’t just to make money. I want people to enjoy my books. If I can make money at the same time, so much the better.

AuthorU is an organization put together by Judith Briles, who is herself a great inspiration.

If it weren’t for my husband, who read my first short story and put it on Amazon, and who also found Author U, my writing would still be a secret. Now I am on of those ‘crazy artsy fartsy’ people. I write, I blog, I tweet and I am having the time of my life.

My first novel ‘Dead of July’ Preview Dead of July will be released later this year. This book has been three years in the making and I am proud of it. Dead of July will be available as an e-book and paper back. I can’t wait to share it with you and I can’t wait to hear what you think about it.
